Last week’s Lunch Club had a slightly different look about it. Why? Well it’s because those who fancied their chances as the next captain of the Ryder Cup team got a chance to show their skills.
OK it wasn’t 18 holes around St Andrews but it was nevertheless as close to the real thing you can get with the materials to hand.
I’m far too much of a gentleman to ask who won – when I played (badly) it was always more a case of the taking part rather than the winning that mattered.
