What Matters? From the very start What Matters?, MBC’s innovative community outreach programme, had two main aims. Firstly, to engage with our local community, to discover and share the things that matter most in and around where we worship, and secondly, through that engagement, to equip and encourage MBC (that’s the people not the building) to live their faith in a more open and confident way. Over the What Matters? weekend there were five quite distinct “sessions” : on Friday afternoon dozens of local school children dropped by for a preview and a first bite at the What Matters? quiz. This was followed by the community launch at which Fabian Hamilton MP told more than a hundred guests how much he was looking forward to having a close up look at the “brilliant exhibition”. Saturday was Open Day which saw a constant stream of visitors. On Sunday MBC’s morning worship focused on the theme of resurrection and the importance of changing our “if only” lives to “if Jesus”, whilst on Sunday evening a joint CTMAS service (Churches together in Moortown, Alwoodley and Shadwell) again focused on the theme of Christians speaking out about the things that matter most to them.
The photos below are just a taster of what went on over the weekend. Do take the time to have a look (it works the same as the Looking Back page) and feel free to download the photos for your own use.
