Moortown Baptist Church is planning to hold a Christian Festival in July 2011, with a main event on the 9th July and other supporting events before and after this date. The purpose of the Festival is:
• To present Christ in a clear understandable way.
• To make contact with a range of people in the community and so raise the Church profile.
• To encourage confidence and openness about our faith among members at Moortown Baptist Church
The overall theme of the festival will be to do with the arts, with the specific content of the festival and supporting events being informed by what people and community groups within Moortown and beyond tell us matters to them.
Between June and September 2010 people from Moortown Baptist Church will be asking those whom they know, and some local community groups, to provide answers to a questionnaire about “What matters to them.” The responses will be anonymous and once analysed, will help to determine the content of the Festival.
The questionnaire covers five key areas:
1. What is most important in your life? What matters to you?
2. What do you think about praying?
3. What matters to you in your neighbourhood and wider world?
4. What do you want your future to look like?
5. What groups or activities are you into?
